Date: Mon, 6 Jul 2015 12:09:49 -0400 Subject: Re: May 6, 2015 MPIA request From: Jacob Kogan To: David Gleason , Jacob Kogan Dear Mr. Gleason, On June 23, 2015 I have requested an estimate for the price of copying for my MPIA documentation requested on May 6, 2015. So far I have not receive any response to this request. I, therefore, conclude that sixty (60) days after the original request the estimate is not available. The high cost for identifying and preparing records already available ($620.76), and the uncertainly with the costs required for copying along with other relevant factors negatively effects my ability to pay. On May 14, 2014 the Department requested from Dr. Neerchal a financial report of departmental funds (attached for your convenience). The more than one year old request remains with no response, and clearly indicates that I seek the information for a public purpose. As provided by the Annotated Code of Maryland, Paragraph 4-206(e) I respectfully request to waive the fees associated with my May 6, 2015 MPIA request. Given the Department interest in the requested material, as well as substantial costs already available, and high uncertainty of the final price tag the waiver would be in the public interest. I am looking forward to your timely response. With best regards, Jacob
