U of Illinois Urbana/Champaign Math Dept bylaws
Executive Committee is elected. Department Chair shall be a voting ex officio member and Chair of the Executive Committee. Department Chair shall be a voting ex officio member of the Promotion and Tenure Committee. Department Chair or the Department Chairs designated representative shall be a non-voting member of the undergraduate affairs committee.
U of Georgia Math Dept bylaws
(nice procedure for election of Head) The Department Head will chair the Executive Committee. Elected committee members will serve staggered two-year terms and elections will be held in the Spring term of each year.
U of Nebraska Math Dept bylaws
(nice list of duties for the Head) The Chair serves as chair of the Executive Committee. Election to the Executive Committee is restricted to faculty who have been members of the faculty for at least two years prior to their election. Terms of elected members on the Executive Committee will be staggered so that two new members will be elected each year.
